Condensation Treatment
What is Condensation?
Condensation is perhaps the most common form of dampness in buildings today and can be the most difficult to diagnose. It is extremely underestimated and can lead to damaged decoration and furnishings, germination of unsightly mould growths and unhealthy living conditions. It is important to identify if you have a condensation problem and find an approproate condensation treatment as quickly as possible. The easiest way to do this is to contact Richardson & Starling who are qualified within condensation treatments and are condensation treatment specialists.
Condensation is normally caused by modern improvements in insulation, draught proofing and double glazing which all result in reduced ventilation which in turn allows moisture laden air to evaporate on to cold surfaces such as windows or walls in the form of condensation. The temperature of the wall surface at which this moisture will form is called the ‘dew point” The quantity of moisture within the air (known as “relative humidity”) comes from breathing, bathing, cooking and other domestic activities.
One person on their own is capable of producing up to four pints of moisture per day! |

Our fully trained surveyors are equipped with the latest technology to accurately identify condensation and to specify the appropriate treatment to deal with the problem.
Condensation Control / Treatment
Richardson and Starling, in partnership with leading ventilation experts Envirovent recommend the Evirovent Positive Input Ventilation System.
The EnviroVent positive ventilation units are sophisticated whole home ventilation and condensation control units. By drawing in fresh, filtered and clean air from outside, the units gently ventilate the home from a central position on a landing in a house or the central hallway in a flat or bungalow.

Moisture laden air is diluted, displaced and replaced to control humidity levels around 55%. This significantly reduces or eliminates surface condensation, the main cause for mould growth. With lower humidity levels, dust mite populations are also substantially reduced to provide a significant improvement in the health of asthma sufferers and general indoor air quality. Positive Input Ventilation is also available for flats and apartments.
